Dr. Ramesh Singh, Assoc. Professor, Mechanical Engg., IIT Bombay and our BIT alumnus has also been awarded the most prestigious
"Swarna Jayanti" Award for Engineering Sciences given to truly outstanding 1 or 2 below 40 year engineer researcher(s) in a year generally accompanied by Crores in research grant. The award is conferred by the PM in a glittering function every year.
"Thermal Model for Additive Restoration of Mold Steels Using Crucible Steel"
authored by Santanu Paul, Ramesh Singh and Wenyi Yan has received the outstanding paper award at 44th North American Manufacturing Research Conference and ASME Manufacturing Science and Engineering conference held at Virginia Tech. from June 27 to July 1. 2016.
It is one of the most prestigious manufacturing conferences in the world and as communicated by Prof. Albert Shih (the Scientific Chair of the conference) it is for the first time in its 44 year history that this award has been given to the authors of a paper from India. It is indeed a validation of the quality of the cutting edge research that
the team lead by Prof. Ramesh Singh is doing at IIT Bombay.
